Huawei sub-brand Honor has recently announced that the company is all set to launch a new smartphone with dual front and dual rear camera setup. The upcoming smartphone is likely to be titled with Honor 9 Lite and could be launched in India very soon. Yet the company has not disclosed more details about the smartphone price, features or launch in India in its official statement.
According to the official statement of the company, “Taking forward the dual camera legacy, the next smartphone is tailor-made for the selfie lovers with dual front cameras. Building on the success of Honor 9i, the new smartphone with quad cameras will yet again raise the bar of smartphone photography. With unconventional advanced technology and a milieu of quality products, Honor indeed has become a pioneer of camera smartphones”. Honor 9i with dual front and rear cameras have already launched in India which is available at a price of Rs 17,999.
To recall, Honor 9 Lite which was already launched in China on 22nd December 2017 and available for purchase later in the same month. While launching the Honor 9 Lite, the company said that it will be launched in 14 more countries which including India, Russia, and the UK. The company is trying to target other markets also, so could be the starting country for the global release.
The highlights of Honor 9 Lite is Camera and Display. The smartphone sports a 5.65-inch full-HD (1080x2160 pixels) + IPS display along with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and having a pixel density of 428ppi. It is embedded with a Huawei custom HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC processor four cores clocked at 2.36GHz, and four cores clocked at 1.7GHz) matted with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The Honor 9 Lite is based on the dual sim and runs on EMUI 8.0 and supports Android 8.0 Oreo.

In terms of optics, the Honor Lites comes with four cameras on both sides -two at back and two on the front side. It sports a 13 Megapixel rear camera whereas a 2Megapixel on the front side for taking selfies and video calling . It will be available in two inbuilt storage variants capacity - 32GB or 64GB and both of the variants can be further expanded up to (256GB) via micro SD cards.
From the connectivity board, the smartphone includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and Micro-USB with OTG support. It backed by a 3000mAh battery. The company claims that the smartphone delivers a talk time of up to 20 hours on 3G, as well as a stand time of up to 24 days, the smartphone is fully charged nearly on 2hours 20 minutes.
It is expected that the Honor 9 Lite will be available at a price of CNY 1,199 (approximately Rs. 11,720) for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant, CNY 1,499 (about Rs. 14,650) for the 4GB RAM + 32GB storage option, and CNY 1,799 (roughly Rs. 17,600) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model.
