Huawei Mate 10 to Feature Bezel-Less Display

Smartphone technology is getting ahead in a new dimension where bezel-less displays will be a common trend. As we can see that Xiaomi gave it a shot with its Mi MIX, whereas Samsung and LG followed the way with their Galaxy S8 and G6 smartphones respectively, and Apple is also believed to bring that technology in its upcoming tenth anniversary iPhone. Recently, Huawei CEO has also confirmed that the company is looking forward to introducing ‘full-screen’ displays in its upcoming Mate 10 flagship smartphone.

Huawei’s CEO has recently confirmed the rumours of its Mate 9 smartphone to come with a near bezel-less display, as the company now aims to take down the giant Apple. Richard Yu, in an interview with Bloomberg, said that the upcoming Mate 10 at the same time Apple introduces its new iPhone model, which clearly hints the September unveiling of the handset. Moreover, the CEO also claims that the Mate 10 will come with features, which take Apple down.

Richard Yu says, “We will have an even more powerful product. The Mate 10, which has much longer battery life with a full-screen display, quicker charging speed, better-photographing capability and many other features that will help us compete with Apple.”

The leading Chinese smartphone manufacturer is also planning to unveil an "AI processor", which will make the Mate series smartphones more intelligent. However, it is still unclear whether the company will integrate the new AI processor in the upcoming Mate 10 or not.

Apart from this, the early leaks and rumours suggest that the upcoming Mate 10 will be blessed with facial recognition, support for AR, as well as 3D sensing technology. Moreover, the handset is expected to be powered by the company’s Hisilicon Kirin 970 SoC based on the 10nm process and will come with iris scanning.

The upcoming Mate 10 Android smartphone is believed to feature a 6-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio similar to the LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8. In term of optics, the smartphone is expected to come with Leica powered cameras and will be unveiled sometime in September this year, as per the CEO Richard Yu.
