Meizu Introduced M5 With 4G VoLTE Support in India at Rs 10,499

Meizu, the well-known Chinese smartphone manufacturer, after a long pause, now has introduced its M5 smartphone in the Indian market. The handset is exclusively available via TataCliq in Blue and Champagne Gold colour variants with a price tag of Rs 10,499. The smartphone is one of the very few smartphones, which offer 4G VoLTE support, a hybrid dual-SIM slot, a fingerprint sensor, an octa-core processor, and a 13-megapixel camera, at this price.

The Android smartphone made its official debut in China in October last year. The 2GB RAM/16GB storage variant of the handset is priced at CNY 699 (Rs 6,900 approx), whereas the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant is priced at CNY 899 (Rs 8,900 approx). The company has introduced only the 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant in the Indian market.

The GSM handset also features a fingerprint sensor embedded underneath the Home Button, which according to the company can unlock your device in just 0.2 seconds. Moreover, it is blessed with a polycarbonate body, along with the power and volume buttons placed on the right edge of it. The speakers, 3.5mm jack, and the charging slot are situated at the bottom of the device.

In term specifications, the Dual-SIM smartphone packs a 5.2-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and 282ppi of pixel density. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor (4 x 1.5GHz Cortex-A53 + 4 x 1.0GHz Cortex-A53) coupled with Mali T860 GP and 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM. It runs on Yun OS 5.1 with Flyme OS 5.5 skin on top and features a hybrid dual-SIM slot (nano-nano), whose second slot can also work as a memory card reader and can expand the storage up to 128GB via microSD card.

The optical part of the smartphone includes a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, and 5P Lens. A 5-megapixel front shooter along with f/2.0 aperture, 4P Lens is also provided by the company for selfie enthusiasts. It is backed up by a 3070 mAh battery, which has been claimed to deliver up to 66 hours of music playback, 37 hours of talk time, 9 hours of gaming, and 5 hours of photography.

Connectivity options on the board include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS/ A-GPS support. Sensors on the device include infrared, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, gyroscope, and a magnetometer.
