Microsoft To Stop New Security Upgrades For Windows 10 Mobile Till Mid December

Microsoft announced in an “End of Support” page that they are going to stop the upgradation of security of the Windows 10 Mobile after mid-December 2019. So the company told the users of Windows 10 Mobile to change to Android / iOS device.

The company wrote in the “End of Support” page "With the Windows 10 Mobile OS end of support, we recommend that customers move to a supported Android or iOS device. Microsoft's mission statement to empower every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more compels us to support our Mobile apps on those platforms and devices".

As per the Microsoft, its virtual assistant Cortana is not performing up to the mark as of the rivals Google Assistant and Alexa of Amazon.

Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella was quoted saying "Cortana needs to be that skill for anybody who's a Microsoft 365 subscriber. You should be able to use it on Google Assistant, you should be able to use it on Alexa, just like how you use our apps on Android and iOS, so that's at least how we want to think about where it'll go".

After the news of the end of support in the Windows 10 smartphone, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) scrapped approx. 36,000 Windows smartphone which was replaced by iPhone in 2017.
