Earlier rumors circulated that Motorola's Moto G6 and E5 series smartphones were unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona but it did not happen. Motorola’s Moto G6 mid-range of the smartphone has been trending on the internet with leaks, rumors, and specifications. According to a recent report which has appeared on the internet recently suggesting that Motorola has started sending invites to press media for its next launch event which will be conducted on 19th April 2018 at Sao Paulo, Brazil. According to a report by AndroidPit reveals that the company has not mentioned the name of the smartphone at invitations, but we are anticipating that the company might launch the Moto G6 series of smartphones which includes Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, and Moto G6 Plus.
The image showcased in the invite does not provide too much information regarding the smartphone, but the background used in the invite looks similar to the stock wallpaper we have earlier seen in leaked images of Moto G6 which pointing towards that the Moto G6 series smartphone will make an appearance at the launch event. So far, it is doubtful whether the smartphone will unveil globally or in a specific country. It is speculated that Moto G6 series mid-range smartphone will be unveiled globally before or after 19 April.
Moto G6 is the successor of Moto G5, made its appearance in March 2017 in India, whereas Moto E4 series unveiled later in the Indian market. Lenovo- owned Motorola is facing tough competition from Chinese smartphone manufacturing companies such as Xiaomi, Huawei's Honor, Vivo, and Oppo. It is anticipated that company could unveil Moto 6 and E5 series either in March-end or early April.
The upcoming Moto G6 series is likely to come in three variants - Moto G6 Play, mid- the specced variant of Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus, Moto G6 series earlier spotted on NBTC with model the number XT1925-7, Moto G6 Plus spotted with model number XT1926-5 and Moto G6 Play spotted with model number XT19221.
The specifications, images and even the prices of all three smartphones had been leaked extensively on the internet in the past. To recall specifications of all three smartphones - starting with the lower variant - it is anticipated that Moto G6 Play might come with 5.7-inch HD IPS display along with resolution of 1280×720 pixels. It could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 427 SOC, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage and a 4,000mAh battery. For photography, the Moto G6 Play is likely to feature a single 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for capturing selfies and video calling.
Secondly, the middle specced Moto G6 is likely to run on Android 8.0 OS, bears a 5.7-inch full-HD+ display with the resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC, 4Gb of RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage, and a 3000mAh battery. It is anticipated that mid- specced variant might come with a dual rear camera setup with a combination of 16-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel secondary camera.
Lastly, it seems that Moto G6 Plus boasts a 5.93-inch Full HD+ display with screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and having an 18:9 aspect ratio that means the smartphone could come with the bezel-less display. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC coupled with 3GB/4GB/6GB RAM and a 32GB/64GB storage. It seems that it could feature a dual- rear camera setup which includes 12MP + 5MP sensors and a 16MP front- facing camera and packs a 3,200mAh battery under the hood.
Likewise Moto G6 Series, Moto E5 series also comes in three variants Moto E5, Moto E5 Plus, and Moto E5 Play. It is speculated that Moto E5 Plus might come with 5.8-inch HD+ display along with the resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and have an 18:9 aspect ratio, a large 5,000mAh battery. In terms of optics, it is likely to come with the 16MP primary camera featuring an F1.75 aperture, 8MP secondary camera with F2.0 aperture, Near Field Communication (NFC) and Compass
The basic variant of Moto E5 is likely to come with 5.5-inch HD display along with screen resolution of 1280x720 pixels, 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage and packs a 3028 mAh battery. In the camera department, upcoming E5 sport a 16MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie snapper.
Moto E5 Play is likely to boast a smaller 5.2-inch display with the resolution of 1280×720 pixels and packs a 4,000mAh battery. In the camera department, Moto E5 Play sport a 12MP primary camera and 5MP secondary camera. The company could offer 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage in Moto E5 Play.
According to the previous launch patterns, it is speculated Motorola might unveil the Moto G6 and the E5 series initially and then in developed markets of America and Asia.
