Oppo Patents Design for Foldable Smartphone

Axon M, first foldable smartphone had been introduced by ZTE in the previous year. There have been some reports revealing that Samsung is also planning to introduce the foldable smartphones in the coming future. It is anticipated that Oppo, a chinese smartphone manufacturer company will join the race soon which has now patented the design of a foldable smartphone that recently has appeared online. The reports revealing the rough sketches of the foldable smartphone, it has an outward hinge once unfolded will act as a part of the screen.,

The patent reports also suggesting that there will be a dual camera on the rear side of unfolded Oppo. The patent entry of the reports suggesting that there will be two sides on the foldable smartphone, one side can be used to make calls whereas the other side can be used to take selfies and video calling and it will also feature a LED flash.

Notably, patent renders by Oppo suggesting that there are massive top and bezel-less we are noticing in the rough images of Oppo foldable smartphones. All the four sides of the smartphone are thin in terms of appearance and one of the corner is quite non-existent when the smartphone is folded in its standard form.

According to Android Authority, “The patent indicates that the device would look something like a regular smartphone device -- albeit without a bezel on one side -- when in one configuration, but that it could also open up to resemble a compact tablet.”

Yet the company has not disclosed when it will release Oppo foldable smartphone but it is quite interesting that company is planning to launch the foldable smartphones.

A patent application for unnamed foldable smartphone had been filed by Apple in November in the previous year which can be exactly “opened and closed like a book”.
