Panasonic, a Japanese electronics company has launched a new smartphone in India with the name tag Eluga Ray 550. It is the first smartphone being offered by Panasonic that comes with 'Big View Display' featuring an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is a fairly priced smartphone launched at a price tag of Rs 8,999. The company has announced that Panasonic Eluga Ray 550 will be available for purchase from 5th of April 2018 exclusively at Flipkart. The company is offering the smartphone in three color options: Black, Blue, and Gold. The smartphone is equipped with front-facing LED flash which helps to capture the selfies in a better lighting. It seems that recently launched Panasonic smartphone has to face tough competition from Redmi 5 that is offering an identical display screen starting from Rs. 7,999.
Panasonic Eluga Ray 550 boasts a larger 5.7-inch HD+IPS display along with the screen resolution of 720x1440 pixels. The smartphone offers Big View Display along with 18:9 aspect ratio and protected with the 2.5D curved corning gorilla glass. It is embedded with a MediaTek MT6737H SoC which is clocked at 1.3GHz quad-core, matted with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be further extended up to 128GB via memory card.

In terms of optics, Panasonic Eluga Ray 550 sport a 13-megapixel rear camera that features an autofocus lens and LED flash. For the selfie snapper, the smartphone offers an 8-megapixel front- facing camera along with an LED flash.
In terms of connectivity, the smartphone has a 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, and Micro-USB port, whereas sensors on the board are an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. The smartphone packs a 3250mAh battery under the hood and its dimensions are 152.5x73.3x8.5mm.
