Panasonic has launched two new rugged Toughpad smartphones dubbed as the Toughpad FZ-F1 and FZ-N1 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2016) event in Barcelona, Spain.
The Panasonic Toughpad FZ-N1 is Android powered and will be available initially as a Wi-Fi model; in March at a price of $1,499 (roughly at Rs. 103,000), while its voice model will be launched in summer. The Windows 10 based smartphone Toughpad FZ-F1 will be launched at $1,599 (approximately Rs. 110,000) and will be available starting in the second half of 2016. The company revealed that Panasonic Toughpads will be available to purchase via authorised Panasonic handhels resellers and come with a standard 3-year warranty.
As for the specifications, the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-F1 and FZ-N1 are featuring a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 720*1280 pixels. They are powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AB) processor coupled with Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB RAM.
The devices houses a 16GB of inbuilt storage, that can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot expansion. Mainly both the device differ only from the OS front. The FZ-F1 runs on Windows 10 IoT Mobile enterprise while the FZ-N1 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
At the photography section, both the devices sport an 8-megapixel camera at the rear end with LED flash as well as 5-megapixel front facing camera. Both the devices are backed by a 3200mAh battery.
Additionaly, the Toughp[ad's feature a angled rear barcode reader that allows the user to scan items and also pack barcode reader activation buttons on either side by making it easy for use by left or right handled users. The devices come with IP65 and IP67 certifications which are the requirements for the device to withstand in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.
