Reliance Retail's Lyf brand has presented two new Android smartphones in India dubbed the Flame 2 and Wind 4. Both new Lyf phones are currently listed on the company's official website. The Lyf Flame 2 is priced at INR 4,799 while the Lyf Wind 4 is estimated at INR 6,799. One can expect that both the new Flame 2 and Wind 4 cell phones will soon be made available for purchase in India across physical retail locations.
Like other Lyf-brand smartphones that got released recently, the new Lyf Flame 2 and Lyf Wind 4 smartphones support 4G LTE groups in India - FDD-LTE Band 3 (1800MHz) and TDD-LTE Band 40 (2300MHz) with additional support for VoLTE (voice over LTE) with HD voice call compatibility.
The Dual-SIM (regular SIM + Micro-SIM) supporting Lyf Flame 2 cell phone highlights a 4-inch WVGA display giving a resolution of 480x800 pixels along with a pixel density of 245ppi and operates on Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. The company states that both SIM slots come with 4G support , with the restriction that at a time one and only one SIM can utilize 4G while the other will take a work at 2G. The handset is powered by a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735M SoC clubbed with 1GB of RAM. It comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage capacity with extension support for up to 32GB by means of microSD card.
The GSM-based handset Lyf Flame 2 sports a 5-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash and coupled with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Some of the highlighting camera features include face recognition and smile detection modes. In terms of connectivity, the device supports GPRS/EDGE, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB.
Measuring 124.2x64.8x10.3mm, the Lyf Flame 2 carries a weight of 145 grams and houses a 1500mAh battery that as per company claims can deliver up to 8 hours of talk time and up to 190 hours of standby time on the 4G system. It is available in two color variants namely White and Black.
The other sibling Lyf Wind 4 too is a Dual-SIM (Micro-SIM + Micro-SIM) smartphone that features 5-inch HD IPS LCD display giving a resolution of 720x1280 pixels and operates on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Similar to Flame 2, the Wind 4 cell phone supports 4G on only one SIM at once. The cell phone is powered by 1.1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 (MSM8909) processor combined with 1GB of RAM. It sports an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash and comes equipped with a 2-megapixel fixed focus front camera.
On the network front, the device incorporates GPRS/EDGE, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB apart from 4G. Dimensionally, the handset measures 144x72x8.9mm and carries a weight of 146 grams further housing a 4000mAh battery, which is claimed to deliver up to 28 hours of talk time and up to 630 hours of standby time.
