Reliance Retail’s Lyf brand had launched a new smartphone- Lyf Earth 2, in India on Monday. The launch event took place in Mumbai. Unlike other Lyf branded handset, Earth 2 is said to be the most expensive of all, priced at Rs. 21,599 and will be available in Green, White, Midnight black, and Green Colour options.

Covered with a thick aluminium alloy frame the smartphone comes with three security features-a unlock system based on conventional PIN/pattern, fingerprint sensor and a retina unlock. The user can assign different fingerprint to launch several apps installed on the device and can encrypt photos and videos stored in the gallery.
The Lyf Earth 2 features a 5-inch Full HD display with 1920x1080 pixels resolution and comes with a Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone is powered by Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS. It runs on 1.5 GHz Octa Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor.
The dual-SIM Lyf Earth 2 supports 4G on both SIM slots, but only one slot can be connected to 4G networks at a time. The phone comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable upto 64GB. Earth 2 has a capacity of 2500mAh battery which is claimed to offer upto 14 hours of talk-time on 4G, and upto 480 hours of standby time.
Talking about the optics, Earth 2 flaunts 13MP rear and front facing camera with laser autofocus and flash. The users can also use voice commands to switch between both the cameras and capture selfies.
The phone weighs 140 grams, and measures 142x67x7.2mm. It comes with top sensors like accelerometer, light sensor, digital compass, proximity sensor and gyroscope. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, VoLTE support, Wifi, bluetooth, and GPS.
