Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) Launched: A Budget Smartphone With HD Display And 4G LTE

Samsung, the giant South Korean smartphone manufacturing firm, has unveiled its latest Galaxy J-Series budget smartphone dubbed as the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) in the US. The launch in the US has been with the association of AT&T, the handset has been priced at $179.99 (Approx. Rs. 11,500). This latest Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) mobile will be made available via both online and AT&T retail stores for the US users.

The latest Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) model operates on the Android 7.0 Nougat and has a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display. The device has been powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos 7 Quad (7570) SoC, coupled along with 1.5GB of RAM. On the camera front, Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) has been equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and full-HD video recording at 30fps, and on the front, it has a camera of a 2-megapixel resolution. The company has said that the selfie camera has been incorporated with a new feature called Beauty Effect.

This latest Samsung smartphone sports 16GB of internal storage that can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. On the connectivity front, the device supports 4G LTE connectivity along with the Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, and GPS. The top smartphone sensors in the handset are the accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor. The Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) has been powered by a 2600mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 23 hours of talk time and up to 17 days of standby time.

It must be noted that yesterday, Samsung had launched its latest Tizen-powered smartphone, the Samsung Z4 in India. The handset comes with a price tag of Rs. 5,790 for the Indian buyers. The Samsung Z4 is a dual-SIM smartphone that has a 4.5-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) display with 2.5D curved glass on top. The Samsung has said that this type of curved glass display is first of it's kind for Z-Series Tizen smartphones. The handset has been powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor coupled along with 1GB of RAM. The device operates on Tizen 3.0, sports a 4.5-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) display, bears a front flash module, and supports 4G VoLTE.
