Samsung Internet for Gear VR, a Browser Built for 3D Headsets

The multinational conglomerate, Samsung Group, is launching a virtual reality web browser Samsung Internet for Gear VR headset. To keep enriching the platform with content, the leading technocrat is introducing this new app for having a more immersive way of browsing the web. The company conveys that people can start using this web browser, which is currently in beta version by December 2nd. The ultimate perception behind this new idea is that- to access the online content you will no longer need a dedicated app, otherwise it was only available through a website.

Having a quick view over the offerings, it supports for 360-degree and 3D video streaming along with HTML 5 media playback. Samsung Internet for VR also provides voice recognition for making the text input more intuitive and easy, along with an on-screen keyboard. Moreover, Gazemode allows you to select menus by gazing at them, without lifting up your finger. Furthermore, the application can import bookmarks from the mobile web browser, Samsung Internet for Android, and also helps us by providing features such as Quick Access, Bookmarks and Tab Manager, giving a simpler web browsing experience.

Chan-Woo park, Vice-President of the product team, said, “As a pioneer in the mobile VR industry, Samsung has continually worked to provide our users with a fully immersive mobile experience in the evolving world of virtual reality.” Samsung Internet for beta version will be available for download by 2nd of December and will be supported by Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy Note 4 or Galaxy Note 5.
