Vivo X21 Launched in Singapore Featuring Under- Display Fingerprint Scanner

Vivo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer company had launched the X21 in March this year in its home country China. Now, the company has unveiled the Vivo X21 in international markets, however, Singapore is the first country to get the smartphone after the unveiling it in China. The smartphone has been priced at SGD 799 (roughly Rs. 39,900) particularly in Singapore and it will be available for purchase from 5th May via M1, StarHub and as well as other retail partners.

The key highlighting feature of Vivo X21 includes an under- display fingerprint scanner which unlocks the smartphone by tapping on the lower half of the screen. Apart from under- display fingerprint scanner, the smartphone also comes with a facial unlock feature. According to the rumors, it is anticipated that the X21 would be unveiled in India soon, expected to arrive in India end of May and available for purchase in early June.

In China, the Vivo X21, regular 64GB and 128GB were launched at CNY 2,898 (roughly Rs. 29,900) and CNY 3,198 (roughly Rs. 33,000). However, the special under- display fingerprint scanner 128GB variant was unveiled at CNY 3,598 (roughly Rs. 37,100). It must be noted that these prices are particularly for the China market, though the prices of the smartphone may vary from country to country.

Vivo X21 Specifications

The Vivo X22 features a 6.28-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with trending iPhone X like notch and 19:9 aspect ratio with a screen resolution of 1080x2280 pixels. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box, based on FunTouch OS 4.0. In terms of software, the smartphone is said to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor along with Adreno 512 GPU. The smartphone is equipped with 6GB of RAM and 64GB/ 128GB inbuilt storage options.

In terms of photography, the Vivo X21 packs dual 12MP and 5MP cameras on the rear panel with an aperture of f/1.8 and f/2.4 respectively. At the front, the smartphone has a cut- out display resembling Apple iPhone X-like that boasts a 12MP front-facing camera, offering an aperture of f/2.0, IR fills light, 3D mapping, and Face Wake facial recognition. Under the hood, it is powered by a 3200mAh battery along with fast charging support.

The X21 comes with connectivity options such as 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 2.0 with OTG support, and GPS. The smartphone is equipped with regular fingerprint sensor, under display fingerprint sensor, gravity sensor, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and gyroscope. The weight of the smartphone is 156.2 grams and its dimensions are 154.5x74.8x7.4mm. It is expected that the Chinese company would launch the Vivo X21 in more markets in the forthcoming months, so far we don’t know the more information regarding this.
