Xiaomi, the smartphone manufacturer had launched three variants of Mi 8 including Mi 8, Mi 8 Explorer Edition and Mi 8 SE on 31st May in China. The Xiaomi Mi 8 SE will be available for purchase from 8th of June particularly in the China market and sale will start in the early morning at 10:00 AM CST. The regular Mi 8 Variant goes out of stock within 100 seconds during the First Sale in China, as the smartphone is available in the limited number of quantities.
The company launched the Mi 8 SE in two storage variants including 4GB RAM+64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM+64GB which have been priced at CNY 1,799 ($282) and CNY 1,999 ($313) respectively. Micro SD card slot is not available in the Mi 8 SE.
The Xiaomi Mi SE bears a 5.88-inch AMOLED full-screen HD+display, 18.7:9 aspect ratio, screen resolution of 1080x2244 pixels, 86.12 percent screen to body ratio and 423 ppi pixel density. This is the first smartphone that comes to Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC which is clocked at 2.2GHz. In terms of software, the Mi 8 SE runs on latest operating on MIUI 10.
In terms of optics, the Mi 8 SE has dual- rear cameras consisting 12-megapixel primary camera and 5-megapixel secondary camera. The dual- rear camera setup comes with features such as an aperture of f/1.9, Bokeh mode, Portrait mode, monochrome temp flash, HDR adjustment, panorama mode, burst mode, facial recognition, dimming technology and EIS. The smartphone comes with AI features such as intelligent translation, business card recognition, and intelligent exchange rate conversion. For selfies and video calling, the smartphone gets a 20-megapixel front-facing camera, offering features such as supports 4K video recording, front soft light, automatic HDR and slow motion.
It is powered by a 3120mAh battery with the support of fast charging. It can be rated to deliver up to 269 hours of standby, 108 hours of local music playback, 13 hours of video playback, and 7 hours of gaming, the company claims.
The smartphone has Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, MIMO, GPS, AGPS, GLONASS, VoLTE, and USB Type-C support as connectivity options. The dimensions of the smartphone are 147.28x73.09x7.5mm and weight is 164 grams
