Apple Buys Turi, An AI Startup For USD 200 Million

Apple, the techno giant firm recently took over a startup named Turi Inc. for about 200 million USD. The firm took this step to accumulate advanced computing capabilities for its products and services.

Founded by a professor in a University of Washington, Turi is specialized in providing frameworks and tools for other developers to incorporate Artificial intelligence and Machine learning into their applications. It also is blessed with a system which let companies detect fraud, analyze customer usage patterns and build recommended engines according to the company’s website.

Tim Cook, CEO Apple Inc. said earlier this month, “We have focussed our AI efforts on the features that best enhance the customer experience. We’re also using machine learning in many other ways across our products and services, including recommending songs, apps and news.”

Over the past couple of years, Apple has bought many companies that specialize in artificial intelligence. Apple has also started to integrate those systems into its products like Siri and for that, the company has initiated working on the systems of those firms to make its products more unique and interesting.

Techniques like Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence help computer automatically understand videos, images and spoken words and perform the required actions upon them.The company stated, “Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans.”

Apple is completely focused on the Artificial intelligence to provide a better experience to the customers over the products and the results are expected to come in sight very soon.
