Apple Slashes the Production Unit of iPhone SE By 30 Percent

When we talk about innovation, one name is surely on the list i.e., Apple however as per latest reports the company is now planning to reduce the production of its latest iOS device that it released last month dubbed as iPhone SE. This change of plans has been undertaken due to the unwanted downfall of the handset that wasn't much anticipated by the company.

This further gets confirmed from the sources of a report in business distribution Nikkei Asian Review that quoted the parts suppliers as saying that the company despite understanding the collapse would likely continue the production of iPhones in the April-June period nevertheless.

Overview of the downfall of Apple Shares

The report had a drastic effect on the company’s shares as it fell 1.8 percent to $110.05 alongside the shares of some Apple suppliers that also fell following the report. Skyworks Solutions Inc was down 1.4 percent, Broadcom Ltd fell 2.4 percent while Jabil Circuit lost 1.7 percent. The Nikkei reported in January that the technology giant was expected to cut production of its iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus models by about 30 percent in the quarter ended March, but production was expected to return to normal in the current quarter, however, looks like it never happened.

Reduced sale of the leading iPhone products iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have forced down Apple to lower the overall generation rate for the January-March period by almost 30 percent with respect to the last period. The company further told its parts suppliers in Japan and other regions that it would keep up the reduced production at the same pace in the current quarter.

Apple reduced production might affect Sony and Toshiba

It won't be wrong to state that if this reduced production gets prolonged for a long time, it would influence parts suppliers drastically, for example, liquid crystal display panel makers Japan Display and Sharp, memory chip suppliers Toshiba and Sony, which is responsible for providing image sensors to cameras and many are forced to believe that since their plants are officially working at a reduced rate, they might be forced to minimize their earning forecast for the April-June quarter.
