Free Virtual Reality Classroom System by Google

Virtuality is nothing but the imaginary part of the vision, that exists actually but is not considered to be real. The things one wants to have in real, creates a virtual phase of the desires. Google with this aim, is offering its virtual reality classroom system to schools for free. The low-cost Cardboard handsets created by the company for the students to begin experiencing the world in virtual reality, is a free field-trip simulation software called Expeditions.
Expeditions
According to the New York Times, the Expeditions that has been announced comes with a box of headsets and software teachers can control from a tablet, free to schools who want to deploy it in the classroom. The aim is not to provide the virtual environment, but to further develop its do-it-yourself VR kit. It is also an opportunity for the company to make Google products a fixture in education systems around the globe.

Google first launched this as a new version, back in May, that would work for Apple's device, specifically not for Android handsets. Expeditions relies on existing Google Street View images to help construct the field trips. It is not only the 16MP GoPro rig camera featuring 360-degree sensor, that can mold the world, but it could be the new invention that reframes.

Further reported by the New York Times, "The locales vary, from the standard museums and art galleries to tours of the Italian city of Verona to better connect with Shakespearean characters and the former headquarters of Lehman Brothers to give a first-hand lesson in financial crisis management. In total, Google and its early education partners have developed about 100 VR field trips".

Expeditions is the great effort made by Google to provide the free classroom study and get a foothold in the classroom with its Apps for Education program to give free software to schools. It has started up with such kind of effort since 2006. with these efforts, Facebook has also inspired itself to transform their personalized learning strategies into free, publicly available software. It has announced this month that it's working with California's Summit Public Schools for the upgradation in the program.

In the world of conferencing and telecasting, Microsoft's Skype is considered to be the best medium, which has long allowed teachers and students to teleconference with individuals on the other side of the world. But now, a smartphone within the Cardboard case slipped inside a pair of cardboard goggles is enough to teleport students to any destination with a view of virtuality and reality.
