Huawei Plans to Release its Own Customized OS

Today most of the fair share of products work on Google Android OS and almost all companies look forward to releasing their products with the latest version of Android. Contrary to this fact, Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has now decided to design its own customized OS giving a stop to its reliance on default OS prevalent on major smartphones.

This information gets a power boost after Amir Efrati who happens to be an important part of The Information reported that the Chinese company is 'secretly working on developing its own alternative mobile operating system' confirming his source to be a group of three people that briefed about the project.

Huawei's project still lies in Beta stage

The report further testifies that the talked about project is actually in its beta stage or the developing stage and includes ex-employees from major multi-national companies like Nokia and many others. As of now, there is a very limited information available on the project from the company's end which also gets support from the decline of Abigail Brody, who is a former creative director of Apple and was hired by Huawei last year on the post of chief user experience designer. However, her meeting with the team in the month of August definitely confuses a lot many people.

The report further adds that Abigail Brody would likely give a number of new additions to the default Emotion UI designed on top of Android OS which though she didn't disclose, however, did give a hint that the new Emotion UI version due to release this summer would majorly deal with 'glaring cosmetic issues' and 'pain points'.

Huawei would likely revamp its default UI into Material Design

One aspect of change in default UI can be accredited to the fact that Abigail Brody wants to inculcate Material Design UI and reducing the number of components that give it the feel of an iOS. As per reports, the new UI would likely sport revamped icons, fresh colors and additional features like an app-drawer.

Not only Abigail, but even 9to5google believes that the new changes would be making it look more similar to stock Nexus smartphones giving the same experience to users with a tinch of some Huawei-made components. This change reminds us of Samsung attempts with Tizen OS as well as Amazon decision to use its Android-based Fire OS for its tablet devices.
