Husqvarna Motorcycles have acquired a tremendous fame in the world of motorcycles. The company designs, engineers, manufactures and supplies supermoto, motocross and enduro motorcycles. The company started producing motorcycles in 1903 at Huskvarna, Sweden, as a subsidiary of the Husqvarna armament company. In January 2013 BMW Group announced that Pierer Industrie AG has purchased full stake in Husqvarna AG for an unrevealed amount. On 1 October 2013, Husqvarna AG was rechristened to Husqvarna Sportmotorcycle GmbH. In 2015 Husqvarna Motorcycles made an attempt to make its vision clearer. The production of 2016 Husqvarna 701 SUPERMOTO model marks a return of single-cylinder street motorcycling.
