Mercedes-Benz Released The AMG GT R at Goodwood Festival of Speed

Now the time of teasing and guessing have been passed! As the Mercedes-Benz has finally showcased its flagship AMG model, the AMG GT R at Goodwood Festival of Speed. The latest member of the AMG family, the Hulk’s body painted new AMG GT R features more aggressive bodywork, a sportier suspension setup and more power for sure.

Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R on track�

As you have never seen before when Mercedes-Benz put so much motorsport technologies into a production vehicle, the new AMG GT R is the sportiest model in the AMG GT range. Powered by the same 4.0-litre twin turbocharged V8 as used in AMG GT S, but tuned to deliver more power. With the power-bump of 74 bhp to the current GT S model, the GT R produces a massive power of 577 bhp at 6,250 rpm, while the peak torque of 700 Nm comes out at 1,900-5,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a modified 7-Speed, dual clutch transmission to deliver the power to the 20-inch lightweight aluminium rear wheels. The new AMG GT R touches from a standstill to 100 kmph in a mere 3.6 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than GT S.

Mercedes-Benz all new AMG GT R�

To demonstrate the ultimate power of AMG GT R, the AMG CEO, Tobias Moers was himself behind the wheels at Goodwood Festival of Speed. He made it clear that the new AMG GT R is not just a more powerful version, it is loaded with innovations; rear-axle steering wheels - the first on a Mercedes, active aerodynamics, a new ESP (Electronic Stability Programme), and 9-way adjustable TCS (Traction Control System).

Apart from that, the exclusive “the AMG green hell mango” spent most of its development phase in the “Green Hell” of Nurburgring racetrack and features carbon fiber parts along with aerodynamic enhancements.

Pre-bookings for the Mercedes AMG GT R will commence from November 21; 2016 while customer deliveries will take place in March 2017 in Europe.
