2015 Special: Harley-Davidson Road Glide showcased at Sturgis

One more touring motorcycle from the world famous motorcycle company. Harley-Davidson is ready to welcome a newcomer in its family. Recently the company had unveiled a new series of touring motorcycle at the World Motorcycle Rally, held in Sturgis, South Dacota. The motorcycles are christened as Road Glide and Road Glide Special, 2015.

The COO and Harley's President, Matt Levatich, said, "Road Glide has always had an incredibly passionate following, which is why its return to the model line-up is exciting for our customers and our company... We're delivering an improved ride for the Road Glide faithful." The company has given lots of additional features along with this motorcycle. The key features are new handle bars providing more comfortable riding, improved fairing design to reduce head buffeting. The touring models signature feature, i.e. frame-mounted "Sharknose" fairing double LED headlamps has also been added to the Road Glide Special motorcycle.

Mike Goche, Product Planning Manager, said about Road Glide motorcycle, "The Road Glide has always been a bike for a rider who's cut from a different cloth, a person who wants to make a statement as they chase the freedom of the road. This new model respects that spirit while offering a significant improvement in comfort."

Technically the motorcycle is featuring an air-cooled, High-Output Twin Cam 103 engine, which gives an engine displacement of 1690cc. The engine is coupled with a 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission to provide a smooth ride. The Road Glide motorcycle is outfitted with saddlebags on the right hand side of the motorcycle, GPS and Boom! Box 6.5GT infotainment system.

The Road Glide/Road Glide Special motorcycle is coming along with multiple color options. The paint schemes are Vivid Black, Amber Whisky, Black Denim, Mysterious Red Sunglo and Superior Blue. The motorcycles are priced according to their color scheme. The Vivid Black in Road Glide is priced at 20,899 USD and Special at 23,199 USD. However, the other solid color version of the Road Glide is available at $21,399 and Special cost 23,699 USD.
