2016 Jaguar XF India Launch in This Month: Lighter And More Powerful

The updated 2016 Jaguar XF mid-size luxury-sport sedan is all set to launch in India by this month. The noteworthy updates to current generation XF include lighter weight and longer size compared to its predecessor. Also, this time, the updated 2016 XF will be more powerful.

During this year’s Auto Expo in February, the Tata Motors’ owned British luxury car manufacturer had showcased three of its products - the XE sedan, an updated XF mid-size sedan and the F-Pace SUV. All are planned for this year to launch in India.
The JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) launched its most affordable offering, XE sedan at Auto Expo, Delhi, while the XF and the F-Pace are announced for later this year. And Now it has confirmed that the mid-size sedan, the XF is all set to land on the showroom floor in the second half of this month.

2016 Updated Jaguar XF

When launched, the new mid-size luxury sedan XF will replace its ongoing model. Based on a new platform, the 2016 XF features extensive use of aluminium for reducing the weight and now it stands at 1,687 kg. The brand also claims that new platform will increase the cabin space of the car, as the wheelbase has been extended by 51mm and set to the 2,960mm.

Inside the cabin, the current generation XJ featured a redesigned dashboard and the XJ-inspired sports steering wheel. For adding a bit more luxurious to its comfort, the seats are more premium and comfortable than before. The center console is equipped with a 10.2-inch InControl Touch Pro infotainment system with 10 GB internal storage.
Some other cosmetic updates include a larger piano black grille, revised front bumper with sharper lines on the hood, adaptive LED head- and tail-lamps, sporty alloy wheels.

2016 New Jaguar XF

The new 2016 XF is expected to be available in both the Petrol and Diesel variants. The 2.0-litre diesel powered motor churns out 180 PS in combination with a peak torque of 430 Nm. the engine is mated to a ZF-sourced 8-Speed automatic transmission. Whereas, the 2.0-litre petrol engine is set to produce 240 PS and 240 Nm power and torque respectively.

This 2016 XF facelift will be pitted against the BMW 5-Series, the Audi A6 and the Mercedes-Benz E-class. The Indo-British JLR can launch this updated XF carrying a price tag of around INR 50 Lakh.
