Audi Q8 Concept Teased ahead of Detroit Debut

The German auto major Audi has lightened up a set of official teaser sketches of the Q8 Concept ahead of its first public debut at the North American International Auto Show, in Detroit, Scheduled in January next year. As the automaker says the concept is a near production ready version of the forthcoming Q8 SUV Coupe. It will be sold as the company’s flagship Q-badged SUV and compete with the likes of BMW X6 and Mercedes GLE, once arrive in the global market in 2018.

Further talking about the concept, which resembles a profile like stylish crossover along with some coupe-like touches, it will share its underpinnings with the Q7 SUV that is based on Audi’s MLB architecture. The said platform has also several options of turbocharged petrol and diesel motor in the form of V6 and V8 configuration. On a closer look, you will also get to see an “e-tron” badge on the chin indicating about electric and hybrid derivative as well.

Head of Design at Audi, Marc Lichte said about this concept, “With the Audi Q8 concept, we have created a new spearhead within our Q model line. Its design strongly evokes sportiness and prestige. What’s more, we believe an important aspect of this show car is that it offers a spacious interior with four equally comfortable seats, even with the flat roofline.”

Besides, the teaser sketches updated here rendering a lot about Q8’s fresh design language and styling. Up front, the flagship edition come up with the slightly revamped grille featuring in the method of six twin chrome vertical fins. The grille itself has been covered by heavy black chrome bordered flanked by distinctive LED headlights and LED DRLs. The fascia of the car further highlighted by a big bumper along with large air intakes. 

Audi Q8 E-Tron

As mentioned above, a sharp chrome chin blade is also there with the e-tron badge lettering on it. The side profile of the Q8 e-tron concept looks sharp with muscular character lines running across the unit. The bold shoulder lines flared wheel arches and the coupe-like roofline, which is considerably more raked compared to the SUV Q7. Audi disclosed no further details on this upcoming Q8 flagship SUV, but it is believed to come out during its public debut at the Detroit Motor Show.
