From the beginning of the fiscal year, 2015, the Bajaj Auto Ltd. is the only company who is consistently coming in the news for several reasons. Starting from the January, the firm has been launching a new product every passing month. The most engaging launch happened this year is the introduction of the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, which is claimed to be the fastest Pulsar yet offered in the segment. Although, Bajaj Auto has been known for updating its product portfolio every now and then, but from the year 2014, the firm has more concentrated over the products which have been offered in the Indian two-wheeler industry.
The commuter segment is majorly acquired by the Indian customers. Believing the sources, the Bajaj Auto Ltd. is planning to introduce a whole new commuter brand of motorcycles probably in the second quarter of the fiscal year, 2015. The new brand will settle somewhere in between the Bajaj Platina and Bajaj Discover range. As compared to the Pulsar brand, the Discover and Platina are not doing that much good in the sales part. After the introduction of a wide range of Pulsar motorcycles in the Indian two-wheeler industry, the sales have increased up to 23 percent overall.
In order to hold against the toughest rivals, such as Hero Motocorp, Honda Motorcycles; Bajaj Auto will likely launch this new brand by the end of the fiscal year, by positioning it between the Platina and Discover. The current line-up of the Bajaj Auto of offering two variants under Platina model, four variants of the Bajaj Discover model and the newly launched Bajaj CT100.
As of now, there are no details available regarding the motorcycles under the new upcoming brand. They are only found in the papers now, and however, the Bajaj Pulsar 400CS is also expected to get launched by the end of the current year.
