Fiat had already impressed the audience with the Abarth powered Punto and Avventura. This time, its sedan named Linea is also going to get a similar treatment. The model was recently captured in images at the company's Ranjangaon facility, which hints that the launch could take place soon in the Indian automobile market. Receiving the Abarth badge would mean that now Linea will also be available in a high performance avatar.

Discussing the powertrain, it is likely to be fitted with a 1.4 litre turbocharged T-Jet engine that does duty on both Abarth Punto and Abarth Avventura. The same motor generates maximum power of 145Bhp at 5,500 rpm and torque of 212 Nm bwteen 2,000-4,000 rpm in the former, wheras in the latter, it pumps out 140Bhp of maximum power and peak torque of 210Nm. In both the vehicles, transmission duties are performed by a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Abarth badge not only adds more power to the engine, but it also gives an extra style and sportiness to the cosmetic portions. Especially, Abarth Punto has received a funky transformation with this badge both on the exterior and interior fronts. The Scorpion wheels, side body decals, sporty steering wheel and a quirky paint job are the main highlights of the hatch. As of now, nothing else is known, but it's believed that if Abarth Linea arrives in the market, it could surely boost up the sales for the sedan, considering the popularity gained by Abarth Punto.
