Looking to the popularity and increase in the demands of the newly launched Maruti suzuki Vitara Brezza, which also stands against the likes of Ecosport, Ford has cut price of the Ecosport. Now, Ecosport base variant is now available at INR 6.68 Lakh, while the Vitara Bezza starts at 6.99 Lacs. However, the Ecosport diesel variants price starts with Rs 7.28 lakh.The wooping price drop of Up To 1.12 Lakh was not an easy job for Ford but looking to the highly competitive market, the carmaker thought of cutting down the prices in order to maintain healthy competition in the market.
The Ecosport available in the showrooms is the facelifted version and comes with more updated features such as automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, daytime running lights, and a start/stop button. Ford Ecosport is currently available with engines namely, 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and 1.0-litre turbo petrol or EcoBoost engine. This is amazing, as the price drop is happening at that moment when all automakers are making price hikes in relation to the Union Budget of 2016. One reasonably priced compact SUV from the Maruti Suzuki has made Ford to cut prices. Therefore, we are looking forward to see other carmakers to ensure proper pricing and grow in a healthy manner in this highly competitive Indian auto market.
