Hero MotoCorp Gains Market Share Over Honda; Integrated Press Release Reveals

In a comparative press release that is revealed by the Hero Motocorp, it is ruling over the Honda and managed to gain its lost market share. The surfaced reports are revealing the exceed sales of Hero by 2.15 lakh units over the Honda Two Wheeler in the first two months of ongoing fiscal.

On to way to re-establish its grip in the market, Hero MotoCorp recorded 37.4 per cent market share in the domestic 2-wheelers market in the month of May. It showcases a growth of 1 per cent in the corresponding month last year. Whereas, the domestic motorcycle market share of the brand stood at 50 per cent.

Last month, the company managed to dispatch the total of 7,06,365 2-wheelers across the country that is 11 per cent more than the sold out 6,33,884 units in the similar month last year. With the start of this financial year, Hero MotoCorp is consecutively rolling out 7 lakh plus 2 wheelers in the country.

Besides, the upcoming launches that include the Xtreme 200R and the XPulse will make the brand enter in the premium bike segment. As of now, brands such as the Bajaj, KTM and TVS have their dominance in the segment. Furthermore, there is 125cc scooter segment, where the Hero is lacking. With the introduction of the Duet 125 and the Maestro 125 in the near future, the company will manage to create a new customer base owing to the brand’s strategy of rolling out products at reasonable prices.

The upcoming launches will create a burden on brand’s existing manufacturing units. In order to distribute this load, the company is setting up new facilities. A new Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh based facility is under construction. It will be able to produce 9.2 million vehicles every year.
