India Kawasaki Motors Introduces 2019 Ninja 1000, Price Remains Unchanged

India Kawasaki Motors has introduced the 2019 model year version of its litre class sportbike, the Ninja 1000. Without any changes in pricing, the company is asking for similar INR 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) cost of the outgoing model. The bookings for the model has already begun at dealerships. In the country, the motorcycle will be available via SKD (semi-knocked-down)route. Those SKD bits will later be assembled at the brand’s facility in Chakan near Pune.

In terms of updates for 2019, the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 only received cosmetic alterations. Mechanically no changes are made by the automaker. Kawasaki is offering only two colour options of green and black.

Commenting at the launch event, Mr Yutaka Yamashita, Managing Director, India Kawasaki Motors said, "We are glad to inform all our stakeholders that MY 2019 Ninja 1000 is being launched in India on a same day as it is getting launched in other countries. We always have seen a positive response to Ninja 1000 in the India market because it offers everyday comfort and enhanced touring performance".

On the aesthetic front, the 2019 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 gets attributes shared from its siblings-the Ninja H2 and the Ninja ZX-10R models including components like chin spoilers and dual LED headlights. The motorcycle features massive fuel tank of capacity 19-litres and it weighs 239 kg (kerb).

Behind the fairing, the identical 1043cc inline-four engine from the outgoing model is responsible for powering duties. The engine is rated to expel 140bhp of power at 10,000rpm along with the vertex torque of 111Nm at 7,300rpm. Among the gizmos, the company provides slip and assist clutch, ABS as standard, three-mode traction control out of which the mode 1 and mode 2 offers sporty riding performance whereas the third one provides increased stability even on slippery surfaces.
