The largest motorcycle manufacturer company of the world, Hero MotoCorp has opened its Global Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) facility at Kukas, near Jaipur in Rajasthan on March 10, 2016. This centre has been built with an investment of INR 850 crores and incorporated with state-of-the-art laboratories and design studios.

The CIT campus is spread in 247 acres along with 16 Kilometres long tracks with 45 different surfaces. The new R&D centre incorporates a round shaped tower that includes studio spaces for designers and engineers. The facility has been developed by William McDonough and Partners. More than 500 automotive experts will work together in the centre.
Mr. Markus Braunsperger, who is CTO of Hero MotoCorp, said in statement, "The CIT is the new home of our R&D team and the commencement of operations here is a major milestone in our endeavour to ramp-up the product development competency to global standards at Hero. Within this facility we are establishing new work processes and enhancing our technical skills to global benchmarks. We will compete globally, attracting the best talent from India and across the world. The CIT will become a unique workplace for engineering talent in India, bringing our R&D Vision to life – energising smart mobility technology."

MD and CEO of Hero MotoCrop, Mr. Pawan Munjal said, "This is the beginning of an exciting journey for us. With Hero Centre of Global Innovation and R&D, Kukas is going to be on the global map with a truly international centre of excellence – not just in terms of its design, development, testing and validation facilities, but also in terms of the diversified pool of human talent from all over the world. Once operational, this centre will bring about game-changing breakthrough technologies with the power of its intellectual creativity and innovations."
He further added, "We are currently investing about Rs 450 crore in Hero Centre of Global Innovation and R&D with plans to commence operations by 1st quarter of calendar year 2015. We will acquire the best of global talent to build a truly multi-cultural, multi-national set-up here, which will also play the role of a catalyst in nurturing multi-faceted local talent through knowledge sharing."

The new Global Innovation Centre of Hero will give a new base for the future model development to the company. Hero's Other facilities include Gurgaon, Daruhera, Haridwar and Neemrana.
