India Bound Mercedes GLC to be Unveiled on June 17

Mercedes is all set to make the worldwide demonstration of its upcoming GLC on June 17 in this ongoing year and its European launch will be held in September during the debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. This luxury vehicle is expected to be released in the Indian market in the first half of next year as a rival of the BMW X3, new Land Rover Discovery Sport, Audi Q5 and Volvo XC60. The lettering of this replaced version of GLK has been teased out including new 'GLC' nomenclature in which, the C letter is hinting towards its relation with C Class.

Hence, it is likely to be based on the same rear wheel drive (MRA) architecture while sharing an aluminium body, interiors, engine and gearboxes with the C Class. According to the market reports, the designing language of this crossover will be inspired by the C Class and S Class. Inside the cabin, everything is expected to be same, excluding subtle changes. Coming to its powertrains, which are anticipated to be available with a four cylinder petrol as well as diesel mills, V6 petrol and a four cylinder petrol hybrid units.

Notably, Mercedes will also offer the stronger version of this model next year that will be known as the GLC 63 AMG and would receive a 4.0 litre V8 twin turbo motor. The GLC Coupe concept has already been showcased last month at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show and will undergo production in next couple of months.
