Jaguar XJ Facelift Brought in India for Homologation

Jaguar has reportedly imported the facelift version of its XJ sedan to India for its homologation. This indicates that this upcoming sedan will be arriving soon at the Indian showrooms most probably during this year's festive season. The company had unveiled this facelift model back in June, 2015. it will be showcased at the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show to be held in September along with the Jaguar F-Pace SUV. To differentiate it from the previous version, certain features are updated both in the interior as well as exterior portions.

From outside, the sedan highlights all new grille, alloy wheels, revised front and rear bumpers and LED headlights and tail lamps. As we move to the cabin, the sedan carries a modified uphosltery and an infotainment system with 8-inch touchscreen facility in the form of Jaguar's InControl Touch Pro setup. There is also an instrument cluster with 12.3 inch display that displays information about navigation.

Under the hood, this imported facelift carries a 2 litre, 4 cylinder petrol engine that pumps out 237 Bhp and 340 Nm torque figures. Apart from this, the updated version will also get a 3 litre, V6 diesel motor that has the stamina to deliver 296 Bhp and 700 Nm which produces around 600 Nm in the current version. Power is transmitted to the wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission system in both these powertrain options.

With the launch of this upcoming sedan, Jaguar is aiming to beat other luxury sedans in the market like Audi A8, Mercedes Benz S Class and BMW 7.
