2016 Jaguar XJ Launched in India at INR 98.03 Lacs

Jaguar has launched the super luxurious and marvellous XJ Facelift in India at a mind blowing starting price of INR 98.03 Lacs. It has been introduced in three variants including 2 diesel and 1 petrol. The diesel models are named as XJ Premium Luxury 3 Litre and XJ Portfolio 3 litre, while the petrol one is called XJ Portfolio 2 litre. The costliest model in the lineup is offered at INR 1.05 Crores.

The styling has received some significant up-gradation and its local assembly has taken place at JLR's Pune facility. Clearly, the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes S-Class are going to be the ultimate targets for this offering. Discussing the exteriors, we get to see an upright mesh grille, all LED headlamps, elliptical LED tail lights, and double J blade LED lights. This facelift has been designed with a more aerodynamic approach than the earlier version so as to improve acceleration and reduce the air resistance.

As we move in to the cabin, a host of fresh updates have been imparted to the model including a new instrument panel with 31.24-inch TFT display that provides all important information regarding speed, temperature gauges, fuel, etc. Further, some classy features like quilted soft grain leather upholstery, 3 massage programs, navigation facility and a panoramic roof are also found. No, that's not it! There is also a deployable entertainment system for the rear passengers that gets a 25.90 cm HD display and InControl Touch Pro infotainment system.

Now comes the mechanical configuration which makes use of three varieties of powertrains. The petrol motor is fitted with a 2 litre unit that can efficiently generate 240 PS at 5500 rpm and 340 Nm at 1750 rpm. The diesel variant is powered by a 3 litre engine that can pump out 300PS at 4000 rpm and a meaty 700Nm at 2000 rpm. Talking about the sprinting capability, the former can go from 0-100 kmph in 7.9 seconds, whereas the latter takes 6.2 seconds to cover the same.
