The case filed by Meadow mentions that the actual reason for the death was not over-speeding, but some defect in the equipments fitted inside the sports car. As per the lawsuit, when the car crashed and struck an electric pole, the seat belts rebounded and hit him hard thereby breaking his ribs and pelvis. As a result, he could not get off and within a time span of 80 seconds, the Carrera was set on fire due to the leakage in its fuel tank. The explosion as well as soot that came out, led to the demise of Paul.
