Maruti Launches Swift DLX Edition at INR 4.54 Lakh

The much-awaited premium hatchback, Maruti Swift DLX Edition has been unloaded on the Indian ground at a budget-friendly cost of INR 4.54 lakh, for the petrol version. Based on the entry-level LXi/LDi hatchback versions, the new DLX edition gets some additional features against the ongoing variants.

Apart from the stylish livery and bold profile, the compact hatchback wraps up a good number of technical stuff, which include a music player supporting Bluetooth, USB and speakers, power windows for both front and rear doors, central locking, fog lights, body colored wing mirrors and door handles, and blacked out pillars. No extra changes on the DLX Edition have been perceived so far.

Beneath the hood, the DLX edition continues to get a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine that propels a power of 84.3PS and a torque of 114NM. The other version gets a 1.3-litre DDis diesel engine bound to produce 75PS of power and 190NM of torque. The diesel engine powered DLX edition is priced at Rs. 5.95 Lakh. The Fuel efficiency claimed by the carmaker is 25.2 km/l. Both the engines come paired to a five-speed manual gearbox.

From a couple of months, Swift has witnessed a serious dropdown in its sales count and this has resulted in the uplifting of the premium Maruti Baleno's sales as people were moved towards the latter. Despite having the same mechanical configuration, Baleno has overpowered the Swift and accounted beyond 1,00,000 bookings and the count is still progressing up.
