Maruti Suzuki has seen with aggression after the 2016 Auto Expo. After that, the company has launched the Vitara Brezza in March 2016, the third-gen Dzire in September 2017, the Ignis in January 2017 and the Swift in February 2018. These models have covered approximately more than 50% of the passenger car market in India. Nowadays, every second car sold in the country is a Maruti Suzuki.
The company is planning to bring more new cars in India. These new cars are expected to be introduced in the upcoming months and give a tough competition to its rivals. Here are the cars from Maruti Suzuki expected a launch in 2018-2019.
Second-gen Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
The second-gen Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is expected a launch in September or October 2018 with a price tag of Rs. 7 lakh to Rs 11.5 lakh in India.
The second-gen Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is all set to reach the Indian markets before November 2018. The new-gen Ertiga is based on the Heartect platform. The new Ertiga is increased in size however the wheelbase stands the same at 2740mm. Therefore, the cabin space will be approximately same to the current version along with increased length and width. The MPV is expected to take a bigger boot space. The new Ertiga as well obtains an Innova Crysta-like large front grille edged by the sleek headlamps.
The next generation Ertiga owns its own identity than the existing model. It obtains a flat-bottom steering wheel and a redesigned dashboard. In the new model, you will notice split rear seats, rear parking sensors, roof-mounted AC vents and push-button start/stop. We expect from the India-spec model to get automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, 7-inch SmartPlay infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity choices, auto headlamps, ABS with EBD, LED DRLs and dual front airbags. It is powered by a 1.3-litre diesel engine and 1.5-litre diesel motor. We expect from the new-gen Ertiga to be priced in the range of Rs 6.33 lakh and Rs 10.69 lakh in India.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Facelift
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Facelift is expected to launch in August 2018 with a price tag of Rs. 7.99 lakh to Rs 12.0 lakh in India.
It is the first facelift after the launch in 2014. The modifications are expected to be very minute along with redesigned front, a new front grille, and rear bumpers. Mechanically, it is expected to take a new 1.5-litre petrol engine like the Indonesia-spec Ertiga. The new engine generates a peak power of 104.7PS and a peak torque of 138Nm. The Ciaz facelift is likely to be the first Maruti Suzuki to enhance the SHVS (mild hybrid) technology along with a petrol engine.
With hybrid variant, we expect the car to improve performance and fuel efficiency figures. The petrol engine is expected to touch 20.73kmpl. Concerning diesel engine, we expect the Maruti Suzuki to take 1.5-litre unit along with a 6-speed manual transmission. The existing model has priced between Rs 7.38 lakh and Rs 11.51 lakh in India.
New-generation Maruti Suzuki WagonR
The new-generation Maruti Suzuki WagonR expects a launch in January or February 2019 with a price tag of Rs. 4.5 lakh to Rs 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
Launched in 1999, the WagonR is a very famous unit. The WagonR has reached the number to 20 lakh units. Now it is expected to come in a major role. From the spied images, we can predict that the new-gen WagonR will get the vertically-stacked tail lamps and the large windows, just like the outgoing model. Like the new Swift, Dzire, Baleno and the Ignis, it is also expected to get the Heartect platform along with 1.0-litre petrol unit.
It is expected to feature manual AC, electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), anti-lock braking system, all four power windows, touchscreen infotainment system and dual airbags. The new model will be priced slightly higher than the current model. The current model is available with a range between Rs 4.15 lakh and Rs 5.35 lakh in India.
