New Punto Variant Teased for 2016 Delhi Auto Expo

Fiat has teased the image of a new Punto variant that will be showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo in February. The teased vehicle appears to be similar to the Punto Pure model, which is a pre-facelift variant of the regular Punto. Earlier this month, we informed you that Punto Pure could soon make its way to the showrooms. However, now it seems like the automaker is aiming to introduce the hatch at the biennial event so as to ensure that it gets full attention from the audience.

Punto Pure is reportedly the older model, which remained unsold after the launch of its facelift version in the year 2014. as a result, the company intends to sell it off so as to clear the stock. Renaming the model is likely to make the customers feel that they are being offered something refreshing and new. The current Evo in the lineup is priced at INR 4.99 Lacs and at INR 5.95 Lacs for the petrol and diesel variants respectively. Fiat had also rolled out the Abarth powered Punto a few months ago, which is a power packed hot hatch.

Coming back to the soon-to-be-launched hatchback, it will be powered by three varieties of powertrains namely, 1.3 litre MultiJet, 1.4 litre Fire and 1.4 litre Fire motor. There will be three variants viz. Active, Dynamic and Emotion, whereby the top ranging trim will be available with alloy wheels, steering mounted audio controls, foldable key-fob and 2DIN audio system.
