As it has already been ratified that the unveil date of the next generation Audi A8 has been postponed, while by studying the German market reports, we got the emerging details about A8 and S8 models. The former one will get a new turbo diesel V6 engine that detached the 3.0 litre TDI producing 258 hp of power and 840.60 Nm of torque to churn our the outputs of 286 hp and 620.96 Nm. On the other hand, a plug-in hybrid variant will also be introduced alongside a turbocharged V6 petrol engine, which will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The changes have also been applied on its current 6.3 litre W12 engine with replacing it via 6.0 litre mill in order to decrease the displacement. This powertrain is expected to raise the outputs up to 85 hp and 175 Nm, which would result in 585 hp and 800 Nm. Notably, the turbo diesel V6 as well as the 6.0 litre engine are probably to be paired to a 9-speed automatic gearbox for transferring the pumped out power to all wheels of this vehicle.
The top luxury variant of the Audi A8, S8 is likely to be offered with a 4.0 litre V8 mill to produce 580 hp of power and 800 Nm of torque instead of the 520 hp and 650 Nm that has been rendered by the ongoing model.
