Spy shots of new Mahindra Genio revealed

Mahindra, the renowned Indian automobile manufacturer, has all plans set to upgrade its Genio based models with a complete new look, which as per reports suggest can also be carried forward on the Mahindra Quanto model. In the words of James Halliwell, the new upgrade would be 'pleasing to the eye' and that there are a number of changes being done on both the exterior design and in the interiors to give the Genio a completely new refreshing look.

The current model is powered by a mHawk 2,179 cc four-cylinder engine that develops 120 Bhp at 4,000 rpm and 280 Nm at 1800 to 2800 rpm and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. In India, the pickup comes with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that delivers 75 Bhp and 220 Nm of peak torque at 1,400 to 2,200 rpm.

In general Mahindra is looking at reducing the weight of its new-generation products, making them lighter, quicker, fuel-efficient and at the same time reducing the emission they produce. Mahindra in order to enhance its market share has taken all these necessary measures and has launched a number of models like XUV500 facelift, Scorpio Automatic, TUV300 in its portfolio and is looking forward to the release of Mahindra S101 and Verito Electric.
