We all have heard about the popularity and sales graph of Maruti Suzuki Wagon R hatchback in the Indian car segment. Besides, there are also rumoured reports about the upcoming Wagon R crossover across the media. For now, the news has been around the corners that the company is in a mood to introduce its all-new version at the Jakarta Fair in Indonesia, which is scheduled for June 10, 2016.
Mechanically, it would be powered by the same 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder engine that currently runs in the Indian spec hatch model. The power is stated to be delivered about 67 Bhp along with the torque of 90 Nm. A 5-speed manual gearbox, as well as an automatic transmission, is likely to be mated to the engine.
Sometime back in 2014, the Suzuki had showcased the Wagon R Xrest model that featured in some rugged body styling and wrapped up with black plastic moldings and silver skid plates on bumpers. Moving to the design and features, you will get to see a new grille, LED projector headlamps, air vents at the front, while the tail lamps are also expected to be integrated with LED elements.
All the news based on the leaked information, there has been nothing officially confirmed yet about any information like launch, sale, etc. Moreover, India-bound model is also under the impression as of now, but we can assume sometime after the official reveal in global markets. As Suzuki has added much advanced technologies in its latest iteration, the new crossover could furnish with them too.
With the high popularity of crossover in India, it might arrive soon. Once launched, it will take on the rivals that fit in the same segment.
