Today, the Volkswagen Vento facelift has been launched in India between the price range of INR 7.70 Lac to INR 11.64 Lac. The manufacturer has offered awesome styling with a new design language, more facilitative interior and mildly tweaked engine to render much better driving experience than earlier. At the front, it gets Passat inspired three slat chrome grille, including larger air dam, redesigned bumper, bolder lines inserted bonnet, lower front motivated by Jetta and horizontal fog lamps with integrated cornering lights. Its rear end comes with new tail lights and a revised chrome stripped bumper, while the side profile remains unchanged.
Coming to the dimensions, its length as well as height have been enhanced by 6 mm and 1 mm in order to result in 4,390 mm and 1,467 mm, respectively. The interior of this newly launched updated sedan is available in two captivating color options for its distinct variants, such as Trendline and Comfortline trims have been finished in Cloud Titanschwarz and the Highline version comes in Walnut Desert Beige.
Additionally, the Vento facelift has been equipped with electrically operated outside rear view mirrors comprising LED turn signals, auto folding mirrors, a dead pedal, a chilled glove box, external boot release and cruise control. Under the hood, it is powered by the same engines as the outgoing ones, a 1.2 litre TSI petrol, a 1.6 litre MPI petrol and a 1.5 litre TDI diesel.
Volkswagen has made subtle changes on all these three powertrains to return improved fuel economy and the modifications have acted in a positive direction, resulting 7% increased fuel efficiency for former one and 2 % for latter.
Two transmission options are available to drive the car, such as a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed dual clutch automatic. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna facelift and Honda City should be geared up to take a serious challenge from this runabout.
