Bookings for Yamaha R15S, R15 V3 and FZ ABS Variant to Start in January 2019

As we all aware of the Calendar Year 2019 is going to be remarkable in the Indian biking industry. The country is set to witness the new safety regulations from April 2019. It mandates the two-wheelers up to 125cc displacement should be packed with the CBS and above displacement vehicles with ABS setup. The manufacturers across the country have involved in this expedition by started updating their product lineup by this advanced safety feature. Among all Yamaha is making headway with its flagship products the R15 S, R15 V3 and the FZ, as confirmed by a dealer. Also, the bookings for the ABS-equipped models will open by 15th January 2019. While the motorcycles will be delivered after one month of bookings started.

Other than the models in question there are no official words for the other models available in the existing Yamaha lineup. Albeit, the company has rolled out the commuter offering in the lineup, the Saluto with UBS (Unified Braking System) lately.

FYI, the Yamaha dealers will accept booking for the ABS-equipped Yamaha FZ and R15S, R15 V3 only after the outstanding stock of 2018 edition will be cleared out. It hints, desirable could have to wait for long to get the ABS variant of these popular flagships.

As of now, the Japanese giant will offer ABS variants of only models which land on the Indian soil via non-CBU route. Presently, the only model in this segment is the R3 which launched at the Auto Expo early this year in February. The ABS equipped Yamaha models are likely to get dearer by INR 8,000-12,0000 as the company will choose to fit the single-channel ABS unit wherein the ABS works on the front wheel only. As the single channel ABS will be cost effective as compared to dual channel ABS unit.
