Android 5.1 Update Rolled Out For Xperia M5 and M5 Dual


Recently, Sony has started rolling out Android 5.1 Lollipop update to its Xperia M5 And M5 Dual, smartphones. The Sony stated via Xperia Blog that the new update features better memory management along with some improvements to volume mode control. The recent update also felicitates users with the ability to take pictures from the smartphones using Sony Smartwatch 3 and has also been incorporated with the newest January Security update. Both, Xperia M5 and M5 Dual come pre-equipped with Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The released update includes a package of around 600 MB, so the company recommends users to install the update via WiFi. The duo can also be updated manually from the Sony PC companion tool. Users can check for OTA updates by navigating to setting> about phone> software updates.

The Android 5.1 Lollipop update incorporates various other highlighting features, which includes built-in device protection, that ensures the safety of data inside the smartphone when lost or stolen. The 5.1 Lollipop update also brings high-definition voice calling on the smartphone and has the ability to join WiFi and Bluetooth paired device, directly from Quick settings.

The Android 5.1 update was originally launched in March 2015, for smartphones, and the Nexus was the first device to include this update. After Nexus, Lollipop 5.1 update was further included in several smartphones like Sony Xperia C4 and Xperia C5 Ultra and adding a cherry on the cake, now even Sony Xperia M5 and Xperia M5 Dual possess the same update.
