Coolpad, the Chinese tech giant has officially announced that it is gearing to launch three “Mega" series smartphones in India on December 20, 2018.
To recall, the Coolpad Mega 5A is the last smartphone in Mega series that was launched in India in mid- August at a price tag of Rs 6,999 with 18:9 aspect ratio. It seems that the upcoming Coolpad Mega series is likely to be the successor of Mega 5A or might be variants of the Mega 5A.
Coolpad, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer stated in a press statement,"We are pleased to share the news that Coolpad is looking forward to making a strong presence in the Indian market and is all set to extend the Mega series of smartphones," By adding that, "Coolpad will be launching three Mega series smartphones in India on December 20, to expand the offline exclusives smartphone range in India.”

Coolpad has sent the invitation to press media regarding the launch of three new Mega series smartphones. The teaser images of new Coolpad Mega series has been shared by the company which shows the front side of all three devices. We can see in the image, all of three devices have traditional display notch on the top bezel. Furthermore, the devices have larger bezels around the corners, while the home- button is missing on it. One of the devices has capacitive buttons, while the remaining two devices have on-screen buttons. It is confirmed that the upcoming Coolpad Mega Series smartphone will be available for purchase exclusively at offline channels partners only.
It must be noted that the aforementioned specifications of Coolpad Mega series smartphones are based on speculations, however, the actual/ official details will be revealed on December 20, Thursday in India.
Coolpad launches Cool Play 8 on December 18, 2018, in China. The key highlights of the device include a 6.2-inch screen with traditional display notch, dual rear cameras, 4,000mAh battery, 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory.
For photography, the Cool Play 8 packs dual 16MP+2MP sensors on the rear panel and an 8MP sensor front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It will be available for purchase from December 21 in China only.
