Nokia 6X Set to Launch on 16th May Featuring Notched Display

After the unveiling of the Apple iPhone X, the notch on the top of the display is trending these days in the smartphone industry and the several smartphone manufacturers are imitating the Apple and integrated cut- out display in their latest smartphones. Currently, it is being adopted by HMD Global in Nokia X. Previously, it was anticipated that it could be launched on 27th April in China, but HMD Global did not unveil it, as HMD Global has postponed the date of unveiling Nokia from 27th April to 16th of May. Now, the Nokia X or Nokia 6X would be unveiled on 16th of May. As of now, it is not confirmed that whether it will be dubbed as the Nokia X or Nokia 6X.

The HMD Global official teases the photo of the upcoming smartphone on Weibo page which indicates that the smartphone has a cut-out feature and an edge-to-edge display on the top, resembling Apple iPhone X. The notch boasts the front camera proximity sensors and earpiece. The legendary Nokia logo is placed on the bottom panel of the screen which is to be considered the major changes in Nokia X or Nokia 6X.

Currently, we don't know the detailed specifications of the upcoming Nokia X smartphone. The leaked reports suggest that it could boast a 5.8-inch full-HD+ screen with the screen resolution of 1080x2280 pixels featuring 19:9 aspect ratio. It is anticipated that Nokia X mysterious smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 SoC (either the Snapdragon 636 or Snapdragon 660). The Nokia X is likely to come in two storage variant options: 4GB of RAM along with 64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM along with 128GB internal storage.

In terms of camera department, the rumored Nokia X might come with dual rear cameras and said to feature a 12-megapixel primary sensor with Carl Zeiss lens, and currently, the reports did not reveal the specifications of the secondary sensor and front-facing camera. The upcoming Nokia X is likely to run on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box which is based on stock Android similar to other Nokia smartphones launched by HMD Global earlier this year.

According to the teaser posted on Weibo page indicated that the Finnish company would be planning to refreshed its N- series smartphones by relaunching Nokia 8. The leak report suggests that the Nokia N series smartphones were unveiled on 27th April in 2005, absolutely 13 years back. The render images indicated that the Nokia 8 N series smartphone would be relaunched in between 27th April and 2nd May.
