Nokia X6 Budget Smartphone with AI Features launched in Beijing

In tune with the changing landscape of Smartphone market, Nokia, yesteryears leader in mobile handsets, has launched it's latest offering, the nokia X6, which sports a display notch, a 16-megapixel front camera part of the brand licensed dual rear camera setup powered by AI and HDR features. Other premium features include Quick Charge 3.0, and Do Not Disturb mode for gaming. The X6 was launched at an event in Beijing for the Chinese audience. Reportedly, the X6 will run on Android 8.1 Oreo and will be equipped with modern octa-core Snapdragon 636 SoC with maximum 6GB of RAM.

Nokia X6: The Budget Phone

The 4GB RAM, 32GB storage variant of the Nokia X6 will come with a price tag of CNY 1,299 (roughly Rs 13,800). Whereas the 6GB RAM, 64GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs 18,100). Potential buyers can order the X6 online via JD.com, Suning.com, and Tmall.com. Inbuilt storage is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.

Nokia X6: Features and Specifications

Nokia X6 will be dual-sim and sports a 5.8-inch full-HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) display protected with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, an octa-core Snapdragon 636 SoC, integrated with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM will be responsible for the smooth functioning of the handset made primarily for an enhanced gaming experience.

The dual rear camera setup comprises a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary monochrome sensor, sporting a f/2.0 aperture. However, the 1-micron pixel size of the sensor could be a let down in low-light conditions. For the time being though we will have to wait for images uploaded by a Nokia X6 user. On the other hand, Nokia X6 makes up for the small sensor size with Artificial Intelligence. Some key AI driven features that could make Nokia X6 a compelling option in the budget smartphone segment include:

AI Security with Face Unlock as well as a rear fingerprint sensor Improved Photography with features like depth of field and portrait lighting effects, optimized color contrast with face recognition as well as HDR support. Bothie Feature: X6 Users will be able to simultaneously use both front and rear cameras.

On the connectivity front, the Nokia X6 will support 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensor come integrated as onboard sensors.

Built for gaming, a 3060 mAh battery powers the Nokia X6. Backed by Quick Charge 3.0, the Nokia X6 promises 50 percent recharge in just 30 mins when coupled with an 18W charger. Attributing to the rear dual lens setup, the X6 measures 147.2x70.98x8.59mm and weighs around 151 gm. Sans the rear lens, the width is reduced to 7.99mm (excluding the lens).

Nokia X6 Polar White Edition Launched in China

Nokia X6 was launched in China on 16th May, while unveiling the smartphone in the country the HMD Global had promised to offer the smartphone in various colors options such as Dark Blue, Stark Black, and Polar White. Now the company has launched the new Nokia X6 Polar White edition in China at a price tag of 1,699 Yuan which roughly translates to Rs 17,620 in India. Interested buyers can purchase the new color variant of Nokia X6 from JD.com in China.

Previously, it was launched in Blue, Black, and Silver color options. The new Polar White edition of Nokia X6 shares the specifications with the regular variant of Nokia X6. It is available only in 6 GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage that can be extended up to 256GB via microSD card.
