OnePlus 3 Accidental Damage Warranty Needs Manual Activation

Not much time has gone by when OnePlus - the Chinese company revealed and launched the price of its most awaited flagship product OnePlus 3 smartphone in India to be INR 27,999. It was also reported that the product would come equipped with a 12-month accidental damage warranty, however as per the latest reports the so called warranty actually has to be manually activated as the users have no option of getting it pre-activated.

The company has successfully equipped their product with the warranty by making use of the 'OnePlus Care' app which is powered by Servify and has to be activated on a manual basis by the user once he/she buys the product. The deadline to activate the warranty is sub-divided into two fragments depending upon the mode of purchase. If the user buys the product through Amazon, then the duration is for seven days, while in case of a retail purchase the duration is for 10 days whichever comes earlier. The 'OnePlus Care' application is available on Google Play Store and the user needs to properly register their device under the option 'My Devices'.

Registration Process: To actually register on the application, users get two options. They either can scan the invoice or can simply click an image of the invoice and get them verified. On registration completion, users are showcased a pop up message informing them about that the warranty would get activated in three days after which the Servify team begins verification of details entered by the OnePlus 3 user. Just in case, users face any issue, they also get the option of contacting the Servify team via 'CONTACT US' section available on the application.

Not just damage warranty, OnePlus Care app is beneficial to the users in a lot other ways too since it allows them to save bills and warranty information on the cloud as well as the option to receive alerts for warranty expiry. Additionally, post registration users can make use of pick-and-drop facility offered by the company in selective areas. The app would also allow users to get real-time updates on their repairing.
