OnePlus X Now Available for Purchase Without Invites

Buying a new smartphone these days is not less than a battle in itself as there are a variety of options with their own set of lucrative deals to woo the customers. However, still companies like LG, Samsung, Nokia and many more have been able to establish their names in the minds of billions of people courtesy their constant efforts in removing the hurdles users face and constantly changing their user-interface as well so as to give a completely new look and feel to their devices more often.

In contrast to all these aforementioned big names, there is one more Chinese smartphone company called OnePlus that has been able to entice the customers just by the way of its selling its products. The company uses an invite-only feature that limits the no of buyers that can purchase its products. However, in a turn of events the company has now decided to make its products go global and that too without an invite and the first product to come up with this would be OnePlus X.

Carl Pei, OnePlus Co-Founder confirmed the news stating that We’re extremely excited to be making the OnePlus X invite-free more quickly, this time, around. According to Pei, with every smartphone launch, OnePlus as a company is learning about handling the demands and expectations of consumers and he calls it company’s strategy to launch their products with invite system, thereby helping it scale operations while at the same time engaging the community with the new product. Pei gave an example of how OnePlus 2 went invite-free in roughly four months after its release and the OnePlus X has gone invite-free in even lesser time.

Before the announcement, the company had decided to sell out OnePlus X without invites every Tuesday. However, this wasn't applicable for the Indian consumers, since in this case the Indian customers had to depend on a country-specific invite. The smartphone was launched in two variants - Ceramic and Onyx. Both the smartphones were unveiled at a price of INR 22,999 and INR 16,499.

Alongside, Carl Pei also announced the revised price of OnePlus Power Bank, which is going to cost a little more for the users. The OnePlus Power will now be available at $19 instead of $14.99. The reason Pei gave for the rise in price is the “increased costs in both the manufacturing and operations of the Power Bank.” and stated that the new price will come into effect from next month.
