Sony Xperia M2 and M2 Aqua gets Android 5.1 Lollipop Update

After the launch of the portfolio devices, it was expected to get an update soon. The company, Sony was upto the aim to unveil the update panel for the older OS in its flagship series Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Aqua. Both the sets are furbished with high specs within the mid range and high range respectively. The M2 Aqua is the upgraded form of M2 smartphone with various new features being add-on to the list.

The Sony Xperia M2 was launched with Android 4.3 KitKat, that is going to surpass Android 4.4 and 5.0, to put on Android 5.1 Lollipop directly. Further, the Sony Xperia M2 Aqua was furnished with Android 4.4 KitKat, that bypasses Android 5.0 to get Android 5.1 update. Both the sets would be sporting the Google's Material Design theme with new UI animations, notification alerts, more customization options under quick settings and multiple profile modes among others. Further including, customization options for controlling the volume settings, silent mode, alert function and more.

The update brings the smartphones to firmware version 18.6.A.0.175, with various add-on like getting new LinkedIn integration, providing users with extra information about the other participants for the meetings in Calendar. The update further helps the user to get a smoother interface with ease of access at various ends.

With the Google rolling out with Android 6.0 Marshmallow update next week, Sony has also updated its Xperia series Z1, Z1 Compact and Z Ultra with Android 5.1.1 update. Further updating Sony Smartwatch 3, helps the user to make the wearable to act as a shutter button for selfie capturing. The new update in M2 series phone brings fixed for Stagefright vulnerability among other improvements in volume and silent mode control, integration of LinkedIn with Calendar and Contacts app, camera focus, speed and accuracy and more.
