Latest Android Pie Soon To Be Available on HTC, Sony Smartphones

Sony will soon bring Android latest software update i.e. Android 9 Pie, an upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo. The latest android update was finally unveiled in the last month after too much testings and developments. Currently, Android P, OTA software update is available on Google Pixel range and Essential Phone.

Just after the official announcement of Android 9 Pie Operating System, the smartphone manufacturers have announced that they are working with Android OEMs to provide the latest operating system in their flagship smartphones.

In recent developments, HTC Taiwanese tech giant has also announced that premium HTC smartphones namely U12+, U11+, U11, and U11 Life will soon receive the latest Android 9 software update, however, the smartphone manufacturer has not mentioned the timeline of HTC smartphones for the software update.

The announcement of Android P software update has been made by HTC company via its official Twitter account on 11th August. One must note that HTC U11 Life will get the software update via Android One programme.

Apart from HTC, Sony has also announced that six of its Sony smartphones including Sony Xperia XZ2, XZ2 Compact, XZ2 Premium, XZ1, XZ1 Compact, and XZ Premium will get Android Pie Software update in the near future. The recently leaked reports suggested the aforementioned Sony flagship smartphones will receive the software update in between September to November during this year.

Furthermore, Vivo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has announced that Vivo X21 and other Vivo flagship smartphones will get their Android Pie software update sometimes in the last quarter of this year.

Additionally, Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has also announced that its recently launched Mi Mix 2S ' Android 9-based MIUI 10 beta update is in the testing stage.

Other smartphone manufacturers such as OnePlus, HMD Global, and Oppo have already registered themselves for the Android P beta software update which is to be expensed to soon join the race of Android Pie Operating System for their premium flagship smartphones.

Apart from this, the Google Pixel users can update the Android P Operating System in their smartphones just by visiting Settings > Software updates.
