BSNL General Manager Aims to Add 100 more 3G Cell Sites

BSNL, being The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited company to provide the services related to the wired communications and wireless communications, is aiming to ensure its customers with 100 more 3G cell sites to add on to the wireless zone. The company's Ongole General Manager B. Chandrasena has said, The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has planned to add 100 more 3G cell sites this year to ensure better services to the customers.

She said, while speaking to the media, free night calling facility and the combo plan with voice calls and broadband facility introduced by the BSNL had helped arrest the trend of diminishing patronage for the conventional landline telephones. Clarifying the statement, it is cleared that the number of disconnections to the landline connections is around the order of 2000 per month prior to the introduction of the free night calling facility.

"We have brought down the number of disconnections gradually to 1,000 and then to 500 in May. The number of disconnections was 650 last month, while 250 new landline connections have been added during the period," she said. Gaining the love and attention of the users, she introduced the facility to net savvy customers with a 2 MBPS speed up to 10 GB usage that would be available to those who avail landline telephone and broadband paying Rs 675 per month. Paying additional Rs. 50 can fetch the user to migrate from the Rs. 625 combo-pack in the rural areas. She further added, those whose landline connections were disconnected could get a rebate on their outstanding bill till March 2016 and restore the connections.


Being the GM, she focused on the aspects and told the reporters that, while the number of BSNL landline connections stood at 35,000, the mobile connections have crossed 2.75 lakh mark in Prakasam district with 3,500 to 4000 new mobile phone users preferring BSNL.
